Shatter the Sky: What going to the stratosphere taught me about self-worth, sacrifice, and discipline Customer Reviews
:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from A Mom -- Insight into this remarkable woman. : When I purchased the Kindle edition I feared that this book was going to be a dry academic read of an accomplished military woman's resume. When I dove into the book I was pleasantly surprised to see that it is not a conventional bio but structured into relatable vignettes from her early years into the present. I have no military background but have found that even without any military knowledge it draws you in. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from cjmundy99 -- Merryl tells an engaging story that leaves you feeling ready to take on the world! : What a fast-paced read! From her roots in the Bronx, to her time in the military, to becoming a TV personality, Merryl uses the events in her life to weave a well-written narrative that anyone can relate to -- even if they haven’t gone to the Stratosphere. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Rima K -- wonderful read : I couldn't wait for Merryl's book to come out. Although I have known her since her first deployment in Korea where we hung out, competed in pool and darts (she won one, I won the other) and had a few drinks. but there were still many things i didn't about her background. I just knew I had a lot of respect for this pilot, women, and friend. This book was a great read and allowed to know more and understand why I enjoy knowing her. I highly recommend this book, and wonder what other wonderful things she will accomplish. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 13, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Kenneth Hall -- Indomitable : Col Tengesdal’s story is truly worth knowing. “Indomitable” is the word that comes to mind when trying to describe her success in life. She pulls no punches and accepts no excuses in this book. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Jackie -- Raw, real, uplifting - a must read : I purchased the Kindle version the day of the release. I had to force myself not to read cover-to-cover in one sitting because I did not want the experience to end. The realness and rawness resonated with me. While I thank her for her esteemed military service, she is so much more than her service record. The world needs more Merryl's. Fortunately, I am confident we've neither seen nor heard the last of her amazing contributions to a world that needs more of what she brings to the table. Smart, articulate, accomplished and scores a 10/10 on the “badass alert” scale.
